The Estonian Concrete Building of the Year 2022 is Järve Towers
The Concrete Building of the Year award winners for 2022 were announced today
at the annual Concrete Day event at Viimsi Artium.
The Estonian Concrete Building of the Year 2022 is – Järve Towers.
The main award for architecture – Arhitekt Martin Aunin: Martin Aunin, Marti Kahu, Margid Saar, Martin Melioranski.

Comment of the jury: “Modern apartment buildings with commercial premises with high-quality architecture well-suited to their location in an urban environment. A good example of high-quality collaboration between architect-designer-concrete element manufacturer. Very demanding quality of concrete elements, as well as their installation.”
The chairman of the jury, Aadu Kana: “It is with buildings like the Järve Towers that modern concrete construction proves its strengths – precise, complex and high-quality elements made in factory conditions with the countless possibilities offered by cast-in-place concrete. An excellent example of modern concrete construction.”

Special award: to the general construction manager of the construction of the hauling dock of Pakrineeme LNG terminal, Reedik Raudla (Pakrineeme Sadama OÜ construction manager) – for organizing good cooperation between the team – client-designer-builder.
Comment of the jury: “As the representative of the client, he directed the high-quality execution of all works in a record short time. The hauling dock of the LNG terminal was completed in a world-record short time. It was also an extraordinary effort in terms of concrete works – for casting the concrete parts of the hauling dock the pipeline of the concrete pump had to be dragged to a distance of 750 meters, which is an Estonian record.”
The chairman of the jury, Aadu Kana: “Everyone in contact with the construction were deeply impressed by the actions of the client’s side construction manager Reedik Raudla. As the representative of the client, he directed the high-quality execution of all works.”
Special award from the Estonian Association of Civil Engineers was awarded to – the structural engineers of Järve Towers, Jaanus Olop and Mati Jõgiste (E-Betoonelement OÜ).
Special award from Äripäev newspaper was awarded to – GRK Eesti AS as the main contractor of Puiatu ecoduct.
The Concrete Building of the Year competition, organized for the twenty-third time this year, has been launched to introduce the public to the wide range of uses for concrete and to recognize people who have used the domestic building material, the opportunity-rich and well-formable concrete, in their projects. This year’s competition received 13 works. The submission was open to concrete buildings and structures and procedures within buildings that were handed over to the contractor in 2022.
The jury of the Concrete Building of the Year 2022 consisted of representatives from the Estonian construction associations: Villem Tomiste from the Union of Estonian Architects, Kalev Ramjalg from the Estonian Concrete Association, Indrek Peterson from the Estonian Association of Construction Entrepreneurs, Heiki Meos from the Estonian Association of Civil Engineers, Johann-Aksel Tarbe from the Estonian Association of Architectural and Consulting Engineering Companies, Marina Vaganova from the Association of Construction Material Producers of Estonia, as well as the representatives of construction journalists – Teeli Remmelg, Editor-in-Chief of the construction publications of Äripäev, Liivi Tamm, Editor-in-Chief of the magazine EhitusEST, and the Finnish architect Maritta Koivisto – Editor-in-Chief of the magazine Betoni, the chairman of the jury Aadu Kana from Kunda Nordic Tsement AS.
