The Estonian Concrete Association and the Association of Construction Material Producers of
Estonia have launched the “Estonian Concrete Building of the Year 2026” competition. The goal of
the competition is to strengthen the reputation of concrete as the most widely used domestic
building material and to promote the development of concrete architecture, concrete technology and
concrete construction.
“Once again this year a large number of buildings and structures in which concrete plays a key role
are being completed in Estonia,” said Imre Leetma, Chairman of the Board of the Estonian Concrete
Association. “We welcome not only residential and public buildings to our competition but also
industrial, infrastructure, agricultural and all kinds of other buildings and structures that demonstrate
the versatile possibilities of concrete as a construction material from different perspectives.”
Submissions for the concrete building competition can include:
- constructions, including buildings and structures, handed over to the client during 2026;
- constructions that have not previously been submitted to the competition;
- designs and procedures may also be entered.
The winning project or procedure will be one where the work of companies registered in Estonia
and concrete materials supplied from Estonia have played a significant role. When selecting the
winner, the jury will consider the professionalism and level of difficulty involved in the design and
construction of the project, as well as its quality and innovation.
The Grand Prix will be awarded to the author of the winning idea. The client, designer, builder,
formwork supplier, concrete product manufacturer and concrete supplier of the winning project will
also be recognised.

Companies, the Association of Construction Material Producers of Estonia, Heidelberg Materials
Kunda and the media. The competition organiser will convene the jury.
The deadline for submitting entries is December 11, 2026.
The winner will be announced at the nationwide Concrete Day in March 2027.
